Also since there are a lot of us who are going for interviews, we discuss how everyone is doing at these interviews. But after you join InterviewKickstart you see that you are not alone and there are a lot of people with a similar amount of experience who are going through these situations. One can always come up with something but if you have not solved 10-15 similar problems you won’t be any good. In an interview there are 35-45 mins so it’s kind of impossible to solve the problem if you have not solved something similar. In my case, I try to generalize it by thinking about how I try to solve it at work currently when the product team comes and asks any question.

One still has to code but that takes only about 20-30% of the time whereas in interviews they give you a problem and you have to immediately think and solve it. Your day to day work involves understanding the business requirements and coding accordingly. At work nobody really uses sorting or knows how it’s implemented - they just use your standard language libraries.
